No compression

So I broke a piston ring awhile, so I ordered new ones. I put it all together and it ran well, after a few weeks, I got a high compression head and a new cylinder,I took the old cylinder off, and installed the new parts, and ever since then there’s barely any compression, I’ve tightened down the head bolts, and tightened the spark plug,( properly). Just no compression
I am almost certain it’s an air leak. I currently have the base gasket off. It’s a 2 stroke 80cc (66cc)

I'm having the same issue with my minarelli build I checked everything, I have a vacuum leak as well :(...

If I spin my crank wile cdi disconnected I hear a sqishing sound like a sponge absorbing air almost
(It used to just make a hard pump sound when it functioned normally and ran)

That and I can only get my engine running with choke on..... the second I take choke off it dyes.... any ideas?

To OP, if I read it right you used the original piston and rings that ran in the stock cylinder, if so it will take a while for the rings to seat to the new cylinder. Try the stock head, so called high performance heads sometimes are lower compression than a stock head.
