Building a replica 1910ish engine and bike. Using a B-29 Super Fortress APU cylinder, a Yamaha YZ250 Crank and rod. Piston is a 225 Yamaha. The crankcase I am casting from Aluminum. Cams are Briggs FH. I am a Youtube creator, so I am building it step by step on there.

I have a hard time painting a crankcase..lol and your going to cast one! Wow that is awesome!! Killer project and best of luck.

Have you thought about using casting wax instead of the wood to make your molds? I have used this method to make my own casting wax, fairly reasonable to make and easier than wood to make molds. http://www.instructables.com/id/Machinable-Wax/
