Hello everyone, I'm getting ready to start my first bike build. A little background, I grew up on motorcycles from riding to rebuilding, everything from dirt to street. I have a good mechanical and electrical background and am not afraid of improvising. I'm in my early 50's and have decided that all I need now is something to put around on and decided to sell my motorcycle and have some fun building a nice 4 stroke motorized bicycle. I have been slowly gathering decent components for my build and I would like some feedback from those that have done this. This is what I have so far: generic Gasbike frame w/built in gas tank from Gasbike.net, Manitou M30 forks, Shimano SLX M675 brake set w/205mm and 180mm rotors, 49cc 4G T Belt drive complete motor kit from bicycle-engines.com, DT Swiss EX 500 rims, Shimano Afine 8-speed internal hub, Shimano Alfine DH-S501 Dyno, Easton Haven 35 carbon riser handle bars, and Michelin C4 Protek Max 26'' tires and tubes. Anyway, my first questions are:
Does anyone know of a good headset that will fit in this frame?
Does anyone know of good bottom brackets and crank sets that will fit on this frame?

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for replying, I haven't put anything together yet, I was hoping by listing what I had that would give people a good idea of of what was going on.

Welcome to the forum, youare building a sweet ride.
here is the head set you need if you have this frame- http://motorbicycling.com/showthread.php?t=62488

Threadless Headset 1-1/8"x34x30mm

Here is the ebay link to the last headset I ordered for the GT2a frame skyhawk style frame. I believe that is what you have.

You then just need a fork stem (Dogbone) to hold your 25.4mm dia. handlebars on
1-1/8 Aluminum MTB Road Urban Fixie 25.4mm clamp 1" short

Hope this helps and welcome again! Looking forward to seeing your build progress.

For a narrow crank set that works with the frame is

But I believe you need a wide crank set for the 4 stroke set up.

You also need to order a set of Bottom Bracket Conversion Kit American to Euro Cruiser I believe.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BICYCLE-BIK...hash=item19f5ac3ada:m:ml1mi7LL5kbZscPpPCNC2Pg

At least you can see photos of what I am talking about. Its kind of a mess getting all these parts correct.
The only one I am not 100 percent on is the Bottom Bracket size as you dont need these unless you are installing a wide 3 pc crank.

If you need any further help feel free to ask/
KC cruisers here can help a ton on the 4 stroke set up advice, he is amazing.

It's $5000 for a motorcycle and $250 for this kit. If you can afford a motorcycle, why not this?
I was just kiddin' around with the guy. But anyway ultralight, can you make me an intake for my shifterkart? It's a Honda CR80, I believe it's a 28mm....... Mikuni flat side carb. You can make me a prototype for free so I can test it out and do a review. Hehehe. :)
