New member from Tampa

Hello! I just got this bike a little while ago, fixed a few issues with fuel/air mixture and warping wheels. I don't know exactly what size engine it is, I'm guessing its 60cc... anyways, I want to start modding the engine, and so far this is my plan:
A 36T sprocket
Performance carb
I'll probably make a custom exhaust

I have one question though, the black part on the carb, is this an air intake or an outlet of some sort? Can I put an air filter on it rather then use that thing? it seems very inefficient.

Yep, you can put an air cleaner on it. Sick bike parts has them.

SICK BIKE PARTS has a choice of three air filters to replace the stock air filter

I'm actually in Gulfport, a little below st. pete, but everyone considers this whole area to be Tampa, lol

Yeah, Tampa Bay Area used to mean the AREA AROUND TAMPA BAY. Now it means everything from
Port Charlotte to Levy County and from the Gulf to Orlando.
