those Walmart generators that run off the wheel are junk.

I tried several diffent brands and voltages. If you only take out the bike once or twice a month they may work out. Otherwise be prepared to replace the generator and/or the tire every few rides.

my genny worked alright, it got warm. it would probley fail pretty early on, no, if you put one togeather yourself with some better bearings and something to keep it cool (like fins) you might have a winner.
