need help with a pocket bike transmission

iam going to build a bmx with a 2stoke 49cc motor i was talking to a mate and he said he had a spare pocket bike transmission if i wanted it is the any point in me geting it and what does it do ?

Depends....is it a CVT type "automatic"? Or being a pocket bike, it could just be a centrifugal clutch.

Well, don't expect much longivity with that tranny. With careful lubing and maintenance, they usualy crap out at about 200-300 miles.

No. Speed is effected most by the total drive ratio and the engine's power.

ok then thz is the a away of going centrifugal clutch to a manual clutch for a 49cc ?
