Like it says, I rebuilt my 66 cc new gaskets and seals, I run a puch head and a dellorto 16mm phbg with a rock soild reed kit. I am running a sbp pipe. I have previously ran withot the reeds with the pipe/carb/head setup for 2000 miles no problem. This is going to be a long/multiple post so hang in there.
I was running a 60 main and 40 pilot previously and I changed the main to start rich with, I believe an 80 to start. Fired it up on 20-1 oil gas mix for break in. Changed idle to #38 and 1 1/2 turns, idles smooth. W3 needle but left it on top (#1 groove) flat etc through midrange and 4 stroking blubberly on main jet. I am running a cyinder head temp gauge(cht) And the temps wer getting up around 380 f on the hill i use to provide a full pull followed by a proper plug chop. Came home plug black BUT their are light cylinder score marks- crap. Started with a new cylinder and gaskets and opened up needle to #3, nice and blubbery/safe/4 stroking. Ok no problems but I ordered newer richer needles so I sarted working on jetting the mains.
Started jetting down in small increments, plug went from black to grey and than strted seeing dark chocolate brown BUT the dark brown was only on the center porcelain and a little of the groundsrap but not on the bottom area around the threads. Watched my cht and it was making good power continued jetting down with proper plug chops then i heard a small rattle and yes when i pulled the head it was small balls of alumium off of head BUT the plug is stall chocolate brown.
