Need feedback on this idea

So I got a steel bike frame which is to big for an engine, and oversized engine mounts annoy me, as they're not perfect. I also got an old motor laying around that works fine. I'm thinking maybe cutting about 6inches out of the bike frame, replacing it with some smaller tubing, and welding it on, so that the engine sits fine. Thoughts?

Well I've started anyway lol. I've cut some pipe, and welding it in. Will report back with more updates.

As long as the new tube is strong enough there shouldn't be a problem. Got pics?

Haven't got pics atm, however it's thicker than the original tubing, which is a bonus I guess. Once I finish (it's almost 9pm here) I'll post pics.
