Seems to follow what I have seen of the U.S. e-bike law

1000 watts max

bike helmets required for rider (and passenger)

over 16 years of age for rider (and passenger)

power killed when brake applied or control released

20 mph max speed from assist- assist unable to assist over 20 mph, even though rider goes over that speed.

Im waiting for the law to pass for gas engine assisted bikes, but imma still keep riding mine.

Another NYer here. I'm working on my first (gas) build this winter. It is too bad I wont be able to ride it much without intense paranoia. But the build is a wild ride in itself! God forbid a guy build something by his own hands that achieves such awesome gas mileage. Way to support going green NY (sarcasm alert).
