I am having an issue with the front mounting studs. I am using the adapter plate and a u bolt, and cut the studs down. But there still hitting the down tube. My question is how difficult is it to remove the studs and use socket head cap screws in there place?

Thanks

The studs aren't hard to remove, put a rag over the stud and use a pair of pliers to take it out. You'll a need a M6X1.0 bolt in whatever length you need.

You can also double-nut them. Run a nut down a little ways then another after it. Tighten the nuts together and back the stud out with a wrench or socket. If you use a wrench put it on the nut closest to the engine to turn the stud out. They're usually not that tight unless someone has used red Loctite...then you'll have some problems.

^ bingo.

double nuts works everytime. ;)

if you have trouble finding metric cap screws to replace them, you can always use 1/4" stuff instead. just oil them up and drive them home with a cordless impact driver. once they are in, they are in right?

(you could use a tap if you have the time.... lol)

I have some cap screws and spacers left from a sbp mount if you need em pm me ur address and ill mail em out monndaydance1
