Magneto air gap?

Ive read alot on this. Everthing says that its not adjustable.
Mine seems to move quite a bit. It seems to move about 1mm each way.
So what Im wondering is what is the proper airgap setting? Or whats the easiest way to set the gap?

are you reffering to the spacing between the magnet and the coil?
...if so the easiest way i've found is to wrap a business card round the magnet, then tighten everything down- should work just fine!

The business card method works great for me too. Simple and cheap

Remember useing cigarette celophane to set points...I use the little cardboard keeper from a box of wood matches. Same diff.

I used paper match books, the striker strip to sand points and then the cover flap to set the gap.
