Lathe - Ames - precision bench 8"x 36" - $400 (Stafford CT.)

Yep, that looks like something to have around to play with or just enjoy the machine for what it is. Had an opportunity to buy something similar several years ago before I left the machine shop but the old fella wanted stupid money and I've decided I'm a has been machinist. Don't need to start a machine shop in my tin shop at this point.

I'm really trying to justify buying that lathe. Could you imagine how beautiful it would be all polished up? And it comes with collets!
Mine is metric and the math drives me insane.
 
I really like my 1947 south bend lathe, 9x48.there is nothing like making one off parts like they did 60 plus years ago.
There was an old blacksmith kit in the early 1900's one included a lathe that bolted to timbers.
