in about a week I may be able to get it. what size is the piece that bolts onto the bike?

It's made to fit the chain stays on Felt aluminum frame cruisers but can work on other bikes too. The opening is oval shaped and when fully closed is .95" x 1.24". I used some aluminum shims (that I can include ) to allow it to hold tight on smaller chain stays.
