just got back from court...

bairdco

a guy who makes cool bikes
went to court today for a ticket i got in Newport Beach, Ca.

the ticket was for not having an M2 classification on my license, not having a license plate or registration on the bike, and not wearing a DOT helmet.

the original "courtesy notice" said i had to pay $394, and show proof of registration and proof for the M2 license, so i figured most of that amount was for the helmet.

when i got to the judge, he kinda laughed over the ticket, asked to see the proofs, then asked me if i had the helmet with me. i said it was locked up to the bike.

he then said it was ok because he saw me ride up, and he thought i was on an antique harley.

ended up paying $25 for each violation, so $75 total.

that's a heck of a lot better than 400 friggen bucks...:)

it was all just court fees. all the charges say "dismissed."

all in all, it was probably the most pleasant time i've ever had going to court.

Yes! WOO MB FTW! Thats awesome, well other than the 75 ya still gotta pay but hey I'd pay that to have a judge treat my bike like that! Bam in yer face Cop who was a hatin
