JC Higgins Motorized Bicycle

Picked this up from my neighbor for $100. Came with working 50cc china girl, weinmann rims (made in USA), Messinger seat, head badge bears made in Austria for Sears & Roebuck.

Put in fresh plug & fuel and fired right up. Does anyone know the approximate year this rascal was produced?

Going to do a frame-up restoration and relace with CB-110 rear (came with rag joint) & Sturmey Archer brake front hub.

mid 60's, made by Puch, lugged frame, possibly reynolds tubing. those were pretty well made bikes. yours woulda been a 3 speed. after that, Sears fazed out the Higgins name and went to a cheaper brand, mostly using their own name, and built by Murray in america.

Appreciate the history behind this bike. You are definitely the man on vintage bikes and builds.
