Is it bad to run a 2 cycle motorized bike on ethanol E85

I have a 66cc motorized bike with the high compression head cylinder it gets a compression PSI of a hundred sixty I run on ethanol the only way I can get the head to work it will not run on regular fuel with high compression head just wanted to know if it could damage the engine running it on ethanol instead of regular fuel and I would also like to know what the best bike frame style would be for a engine

Ethanol is not at all good for 2 stroke engines and you should try not to use gas with ethanol in it if you can avoid it.

You should be able to use it with a 24:1 premix of synthetic/Castor lube, but it would actually need a much bigger carb and re-jetted on the main jet, way richer to allow the engine to deliver the same or more HP. Also keep the fuel dry and run the fuel out of the carburetor after every ride.

How could I? Aside from advertisers keeping the site free of charge, I can't police the internet. Half the complaints are from competitors pretending to be disgruntled end consumers. There is not one, not one advertiser with out complaint. ****, one of them sold me a defective fork he knew was dangerous. And I knew him from here for 4 years prior. 4 years!.

If you buy something with out researching beforehand, as I did because I trusted a guy I thought I knew, well. That's on me . So I sucked up the $80 bucks and took it as a lesson.

I am not your personal watchdog. My volunteer job here is to keep the peace. Not a consumer watchdog. Trust me, I tried. I can't over see other's ethics. It is your job not to be ripped off, taken advantage of or to send money to people with out doing your due diligence. Ya gotta do that for your self. I personally make no guarantee for your internet purchases. No way, no how.

I have made purchases from both organizations you mentioned with out incident. Does that mean I should ban your thoughts or suggestions? Are you a supplier meaning them harm for your benefit?

I don't know. And not my business. The forum is for hobbyists to share thoughts, how 2's and to BS. I don't get paid. Period.

This should be your first clue. In your own words. Don't remember asking you to police the internet. Also don't remember asking you to be my watch dog. **** yeah you've bought products off of them without incident. There not stupid. It's just as wrong supporting a vender who has as bad of a reputation as these guys. You know it & I know it. I'm sure probably all the venders on here have some bad reviews, but I'll bet Kings, Bikeberry & Gasbike ( since they are all associated ) have way more.​

Just so you know, the parts I bought from Gasbike were not for me. They were for a homeless friend who's only transportation is his bike, he does not have access to the internet. Even though I warned him he insisted on doing business with Gasbike. Well, he didn't receive all the parts he ordered. Even though I sent numerous politely worded emails, I received no information about the missing parts, nor did I (he) receive a refund. Only after filing a claim with the BBB did I (he) receive his parts. I personally have never done business with Gasbike (or any of there affiliated businesses) nor will I ever do business with them because I don't support unethical business practices. I understand you are between a rock and a hard place, but is this the RIGHT way to do business? Remember people will judge you by the way you conduct yourself. No animosity intended, I would just like this forum to move forward in a positive way. Yeah I know this shouldn't have been written all in one paragraph. Haven't learned how to make more than one paragraph. Sincerely DRK.​

What's your reason for wanting to run it? I don't really see much upside. Unless you're like, a prepper with a cornfield and a big still...
And want to be able to ride your Mad Max MB in some dystopian future where we're all fighting for water and fuel...

duh - nevermind, I just re-read your post and of course it's because you need the high octane for your high compression head. Have you looked for some high-octane racing fuel? That might solve your problem without adding ethanol to the mix.

It has never occurred to me to look for some high octane racing fuel. I'm going to ask around town and hopefully I find some. thanks for the reply junglepig

Did you find a non-ethanol high octane fuel?
If you are an adult;), you can try blending 10-15% acetone with your regular pump gas to boost the octane and prevent detonation.
 
Yes, it is very bad to try to run E85 in your 2 stroke. If you need high octane you might try going to a local airport where you can buy 100 octane av gas. It's not terribly expensive; approximately double the price of the cheapest regular gasoline you can find. Right now, around here that means $4.50-$5 per gallon when E10 trash gas is $2.25. It's worth the difference if you're running high compression.
