is 40:1 mix to rich

i bought this 40:1 premixed fuel for my weed eater motor that im working on could that cause the motor not to run when there is no choke cuz it idles fine with the choke on but dies when the choke is on

any suggestions
 
40:1 is fine, it sounds more like your intake gasket is leaking. Remove it and coat both sides with a film of silicone or gasket maker....Seal All works great too.
