Hello again.
After 3 years or so, I'm back. I pulled my Diamondback MB out of the closet and started reassembling the beast. It feels good! Engine is a rare Tanaka 47R engine with matching expansion chamber, Scooterguy frame mount, 5:1 trans. Gearing is 10t/72t chainring sprocket, then 30t chainring sprocket to 11-34t Shimano rear cassette. Top speed before was 43mph. First gear climbed steep hills and ramps easily. I'm swapping the 30t to 24t for more rpms. I need to change cables and fuel hoses. I can't wait to ride again.
It feels good to be back.

Good to see you again, I always liked your builds since 2008.

I only saw one motorized bike in Hawaii but flocks of scooters.

I'll just stick to my favorite Diamondback MB. Yes, there seems to be tens of thousands of mopeds in my town, but no more than a handful of motorized bikes.
