I ORIGINALLY POSTED THIS ELSEWHERE:

I will NOT go gently into that good night!
What about taking the existing electrical system and adding a HT-style low voltage coil at the central point of the large c-shaped bracket. (I have tested the Mighty Wonderful 6V gen's... on a HT they work)

I'm having trouble posting pic's. The ignition sys is in the middle of this page.

Only problem I can see is there are tons of similar products selling for under $20. The one advertised in your link sells for $90
