Hey guys.
Well today i was having a look in K-mart here in oz. ( i think its the same as Walmart??)
Anyway i found in the car section these "Super LEDs"
they are just big LEDs. and in the packet they run off a little battrey so u can see how bright they are.
So i bought a pack to see how they go if i was to run them off the white wire.
the black boxs in these pics is the battrey from the packet.
I will hook then up tomorrow and report bak to you.

Very cool, thanks. Looking forward to it. I wish I knew more about this but have seen where folks used the white wire to trickle charge a battery. It is beyond me but with LEDs, has to be a winner.

Do you know if this would need some sort of resister or surge protection?

Thanks again for sharing.

(side note, Kmart and Walmart are different companies although similar)

hey dan.
Yer im not to smart with resistors or those sort of things so. i hope not :)
ill just get my bike idoling and just touch the 2 wires and earth it to the frame and see what it does to the idol. im not sure what to expect.

i got a pack of those leds from the auto part store and used em to make a brake light out of a stock reflector.....worked perfect....even mounted the batery holder on the back of the reflector....also has a reverse button on the disc brake caliper to engage the brake light

used one on each side for running light and one in the center for the brake

even has a little on off toggle switch on the side.....lol

they work great

i got bad news fellers
I was lookin forward to testing the lights today but my new rear wheel has a bent axel or sumthing and i coudent get the wheel on so i coudent start the engine.
Im taking the wheel to the bike shop tommrow.
And im goin on a road trip for a week so i wont be on from sunday(aussie time)
Dont have 2 much fun without me.

yes my setup is all battery run.....i used a pocket bike motor and they dont have any wires that prdouce power as far as i know ....atleast mine doesnt....so i made my lights independant

but the lights are 12v so they should be ok runnin off the white wire........not sure on that tho

im charging some batteries for my camera so ill take some pics later today

i also used the little button that came with them for my kill switch
