I have been away form the list for about a year, and it's been because I have been receiving excellent service and performance.

It's been almost 2 years I have been with my Stinger-driven Schwinn Panther

It has served me well with Amsoil Sabre 100;1 mix

50 miles of driving a week max!

Today when pedaling to start the bike on my way to my errands The bike froze up. The clutch lever has spring feel, and I can see the clutch lever rotate on the motor, but the clutch would not release.

The bike had to be dragged back, rear wheel Locked up, making ruts in the soil. The inability of the clutch to release hold on the engine means I cannot pedal the bike without a motor.

I don't know where to start. before I call my vendor for Parts I need your suggestions. I am retired, semi-handicapped and mechanically retarded. Ask me to brew you 56 bottles of ALE? THAT"S another thing ;>)

It's probably something simple. First take off the primary cover, and operate the clutch. Look and see if the pressure plate moves in and out.
 
A loose chain can bind in the clutch actuator cover. Remove the cover and see if the chain is bunched up around the sprocket.

BIKNUT makes sense, sense since my vendor provided no destructions on care and feeding of the clutch. I am sure It is bound up from filth corrosion and debris from total lack of maintenance. SO I gotta get out , get on my knees :>( and get dirty!
