How to get this key unstuck

Trying to fit the new torque converter but I can't get this key off. I've tried pliers, knocking with a flat head, nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Hit it with a flat head like it owes you money!!

I ended up melting hot "can't believe it's not butter" over it. Waited 15 mins before I then tried the Erwin grips and boom it came off

 

[MEASURE TWICE]

An appropriate size center punch at the end and maybe also angle up. If it moves a little, then time for needle nose, or channel lock. If a gap opens up underneath, then put some thin wedge metal to lightly hammer in and it is pried out upward. All this though may have detrimental effect on the part, so be you own best guide. Did it come from mfr this way?
