homeade air filter for 4 stokes ?

was wandering if anyones ever made a custom cover for their 4 strokes air filter i know some people do a tuna can on the 2 strokes just seeing what people have come up with out thier.

NAPA has one I think for a Tecumseh mower that is about 2" dia x 3" long that is pleated paper with a preferated steel cover.
I am going to make some 1/8" aluminum end plates to make one fit my new 99cc vari speed tranny build.

For a high air flow and simplicity. One can go with most any shape housing they want and tightly cover it with just a layer or two of black nylon stocking and use nothing else. I am not saying to cover up a existing air filter but to simply make one. It has a resistance to fuel and a good sized micron filtering ability. Panty hose lol.
