Thursday August 13th from 5pm till dusk there will be a bike show at Herr's chip factory in Nottingham, PA. I brought my motorized bike to their show a couple years ago. I had the only motorized bike at the show. I will try to go this year with my bike. How about a bunch of us try to go to the show with our home built motorized bikes. The people their will be amazed at our bikes. Here is the website Herr's Special Events.

Wasn't able to post on the PM so I came here!
Thought you might consider this seat setup. Of course you could use valve sprind instead of t-balls.
Also 2 pic's of 5 speed.

That seat would make the ride much smoother, but it would throw off my custom licence plate bracket that is welded to the seat pan. I like the idea of a 5 speed, it probably really helps with accelerating, hills, cruising, well you get the point. I know there are some stingrays with a 3 speed and the shifter is in the frame. How did you adapt a 3 speed to a bike that only is a single speed to begin with, if you don't mind me asking.
