Help with springer front

At least I think it's a springer front, might just be added bars for the extra weight of the engine. I'm wanting to build front forks like on the Cyclone BTR's. I've read somewhere that the springs are internal but can't find it and I've searched for hours on how these work so I can replicate them. Anyone have knowledge or experience building some like the ones pictured? Or am I wrong about them being springers?

Here’s a pic of the famous one that broke 1/2 $million in a 2008 auction.

It does have internally sprung Merkel forks.

I think you could do a passable replica by starting with a pair of Honda Hobbit forks and modifying them. You also get a little drum brake as part of the assembly as well.

Yep y'all got my imagination pumping. Looking at that flying merkel replica I noticed the "shock absorber covers" (I have no idea what they're really called) looked just like the ones on my mountain bike forks. Hmmmm just have to shorten up the inner tube and lengthen up the bottom one and bracing and....I'll run with it and post pics if it works. Thanks again all
