Help with putting a ebike together

I have a 26 front rim with a 500 watt moter 36 V
I have moved and cant find where I put the controler / thrortle charger

Looking around for controlers it seems that there are two types of motors one is called a hall effect or another type

What is the differance ? How do I find out what type I have ?
