Help with 140 Spoke wheels

I have a lowrider brand beach cruiser that I want to put a CG on but I am pretty sure that the back sprocket bolts will not fit through the spokes on the back wheel (140 spokes). Has anyone ever welded the sprocket to the rear hub? Any other suggestions? (other then change out the rear wheel, I like the look and want to keep it)

you would need to find a disk brake hub for it to do it right that might be hard

This was an old post, but maybe King's can help you out: Super Sprockets for 140 spoke wheels (often marketed as 144 spoke wheels)

Other than that, it looks pretty tough to find a disc brake hub for that many spokes, so maybe a jackshaft kit to use the sprocket on the other side of the wheel? Not cheap, but you get to keep the 140 spoke wheel...

You should find out if you have 140, or 144. (Because there are both)!
