I am 5'10, 290lbs and am wondering what size engine kit I need to get to about 40-45 mph? And what would be the best type of bike, size, especially the motor. Seems 2 stroke gas kits are the way to go. Am I looking at a 212 cc, 100cc with modification s to increase the power. Thank you.

Welcome and where do you live? Location matters. A legit motorcycle for transportation is very affordable. HD Sportsters' are selling for less than two grand running. A well built motored bicycle will cost as much.

Everybody wants power and speed. What's more important than going fast is stopping. Disc brakes would be a must. If you have any steep hills to contend with, you'll need multi-engine driven gears. For your size, a more realistic speed on a motorized bicycle would be around 30 mph.

Welcome to the forum. Everyone else has pretty much answered what I would have. How fast do you want to be going when you fall of a bicycle because that is what you're putting a motor on? For the most part they are not constructed to go 40-45 miles an hour sustained speed. Walmart type frames are not a good choice due to their quality. At best you will need a lugged frame not a butt welded one. That will put you into the 1960's at the latest.

To get up to that speed is asking a lot of the two stroke motors available without a lot of money spent on some form of transmission and there is not many of those available that are reliable. As Tom said your better off with a motorcycle.

Welcome... California motorbikes has a ported PK 80 that basically needs to be cleaned up from the usual casting debris... Strong runner to get started... What I like is everything comes from one place with the usual upgrades so you're not buying stuff you don't need... CNC throttle and clutch lever with the button... Not Shure about the shifter kit but it's something ?
