So, I saw the video of the guy who hacked the head portion off a yd cylinder and made it work and I am going to give it a go, anybody have any sage advice before I start ?

It'll be cool if it works I'll keep you guys posted and post some pictures when I get it there.

It's totally do able there are a few things to make sure of.

Cut smooth up against the bottom of the 4th cooling fin. First pic.

PAY ATTENTION KEEP YOUR CUTS STRAIGHT IF YOU DON'T YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO ADD GASKETS AND IT'S GOING TO THROW THE HOLE TRANSFER THING OFF.

Cut all the way through until the piece falls off do not try to pry it or bend it or knock it off because it's going to leave a little tab it's going to make the top of the head uneven.

Get yourself a flat glass surface and sandpaper and do the head nice and even on top and flat..

You're going to need to buy an LD head and head gasket for it . Which I have so when I get the opportunity to test this I will definitely let everybody know how it came out but it is totally doable.
