grubee skyhawk 80cc kit

Hi all this is my first post so i hope this goes ok.
I recently installed the above kit & it goes great however under moderate acceleration the motor seems to chatter so as to speak as in chugging.Under full throttle up hills etc it runs very smooth & deosnt miss a beat.Is this just a common trait of these & normal or as my opinion a back pressure problem of a 2 stroke.I've drilled the air cleaner housing to give it more to breath which did make a difference to performance but still get the chugging at certain parts of throttle.
I may be wrong but it seems classic of a 2 stroke motorcycle with no exhaust.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Geoff.

Sounds like you are running a little rich and it is "four stroking".

Try moving the C clip up on notch.

Hi bikeguy joe thanks for the reply
Opened the carby & found the c-clip was on 3 out of 5.
I moved it up to 5 & found i coudnt get past 1/4 throttle without the choke so i moved it down 1 notch & bingo your right.
It runs a lot smoother now.
Are there any other ways of tweaking the performance of these motors.
I realise there not a jumbo jet motor or designed to be one but i'm sure there must be other ways of improving performance.
Once again thanks for your reply.
Geoff.

hey mate. there are a few thing to mod ur ride.
Hav a look in the performance section of this forum.
just from the top of my head the u can mod the exhaust air intake.
better spark plug better coil and racing 2 stroke oil.
