Grey Iron, my 1943 Westfield bike build

So this morning I made some corrections to the bike, I secured exhaust nuts with lock washers (they were already lock nuts but weren't enough. I changed the air filter for a velocity stack filter and tightened the choke arm bolt so it wouldn't ride up. I removed the lower fender screw and then used a p clamp around that little cross piece on the frame, and I used a zip tie to hold my heat shield sleeve in place. Took the bike for another quick zip down the road and nothing loosened, so that's a major plus! I'm at the 3rd notch from the bottom on the slide needle and 4 stroking, so I'm going to lower the needle another notch today to try and dial in the mixture. Overall very happy with the progress. Here's a shot of the velocity stack

Here is a video of idling and revving, the bike is running a bit better every time I tweak it. Leaning the mixture by dropping down the needle a notch made a definite improvement. When I was going max speed, which is somewhere in the upper 30s, it started to death wobble, I think I'm not going to be at WOT very much as it gets out of its own way without full throttle.
I did a photoshoot today of the finished bike. Let me know what you think!

Hey guys, another update! Rode the bike 10.4 miles today. I brought tools with me to make adjustments along the way. I'm almost certain that I have an air leak behind the carb because it has a really bad Rev hang. Also the float bowl was definitely sticking because I was going through periods of the engine flooding and when I pulled the spark plug it was dark and slightly wet. My throttle cable was dislodging from the top bit in the carburetor so I used some small hose clamps to hold everything in position. One of my engine mount bolts started coming undone during my 10 mile trip and the engine shifted slightly to the side of the drive chain. Overall though I had a very nice ride, it's a gorgeous day here in coastal CT! Enjoy the pics! Oh one last thing. I ended up removing the fender when I got home, unfortunately the thin old 1940s steel became brittle and the vibration snapped the mounting tab. As cool as it looked, it doesn't seem worth fixing

I added in the foam and support from the stock air filter onto my velocity stack as it seems that the filter it came with fell off on the road somewhere, oops! As far as the carb, I applied some rtv and am letting it sit overnight. I'll try another ride in the morning and see how it does. Included is a bonus Pic of the destroyed fender (RIP) I also tightened the clutch this morning and think I need to loosen the flower nut by just a notch
