I have just become interested in the world of powered bicycles
I used to race bicycles in my youth (a long time ago)
I would love to build a motorized bicycle and use it to commute in Seattle.

Welcome to the forum...look around for a rack mount four stroke for commuting.

I am not even sure where to start.
I am just figuring out the lingo here...
I have above average mechanical skill and I used to repair bicycles many years ago...
little knowledge of small engines though but I really like the idea.

I agree..good to see a PNW'er
I am from West Seattle..... commute down to Burien/Des Moines every day (I teach school down there...)
I also teach at UW in the summer (robotics and physics)
