Getting a reading of around 6.7k Ohms from new CDI?

As my previous problems with my bike were generally diagnosed to be a dead CDI from the start, I just ordered one off eBay a few days ago and it arrived today. However, the thing reads around 6.7-6.8k ohms from the spark plug boot to the black wire while my old one reads a solid 2.4. Should I return this or do CDIs run themselves in?

I've got seven days to return this thing if need be. My new mag comes in thursday or friday.
