Get the wheels spinning

I just built my first bike and I haven't tested it yet. Quick question: should turning the back wheel without holding the clutch be so tough? With clutch down it moves freely but when not it's quite rough which I hope doesn't keep me from turning it on. Also, since I haven't turned it on yet, any tips/directions on how to do so?

You hold the clutch lever in and pedal till up to a decent speed, then release the clutch and give it throttle, and keep pedaling till the engine coughs to life. Make sure u have your petcock(fuel valve) open, and if you have the nt carb(red filter cover)put the choke lever(lever on right of carb)in the up position. Then after your engine warms up u can put it in the off(down) position.

The "quite rough" feeling is the compression of the engine. That is a good thing. Do as james912 said and you will be ok.
