Gatorskin Tires

Frankly, those prices seem high- they look like good tires but high priced.

I'm running these now on both ends of the 700c build-

I would probably rather have a tire that had very little tread- like a classic 10 speed clincher (on the other bike, and a little better roll)-

but these Kendas are tough and the tread they have rolls well and WEARS very well- as in DOESN'T- much at least . I feel safer on wet pavement- although I try to avoid rain.

Still they are a fraction of the cost- it went up here again slightly- I got two of these DELIVERED about two months back for less than $20 - FOR BOTH- less than ten a tire- - can't even get near that at Wal-Mart anymore where tires have risen from 14 or 15 to $20 or more now.

Shipping from Amazon is less per tire the more you order at once.,

You ddin't mention HOW WIDE your rims are or what width tire you expect to get- these 32 mm Kendas are about as wide as you can go on 3/4" 700 road rims - 1 inch wide rims will go wider tire.

Thank you for your detailed response.

I live in hot central texas and the back roads aren't exactly smooth. Will the suggested 'urban' tire still run well in the conditions described? I have a 700x38c.
