gas tank out of trash

I've always wanted one of those under seat gas tanks.
I made this out of 2 propane tanks that go into a little heater.
I welded the two rounded sides together, and cut the ends then filled in the gaps with putty, then painted it with that hammered paint (laying around).

Next I'll seal it with Kreem or Caswell, and put the filler and petcock in it.

Good job! I already have the cylinders, waiting for a welder. Why did you use the stem end instead of the sealed bottom half of the cylinders? I thought it thru and decided any extra hole was a hole too many... curious what your thought process was/is.
 
Yeah I wanted the rounded ends.
My next one will be the flat sides.
The holes don't bother me, because I'm going to seal it with kreme or caswell.
 
How do you get the last bit of gas out of the tanks before you cut into them. Like to not burn my hair.
 
I used a small drill bit, then done tin snips. The tin snips will ruin the half your cutting into. But i didn't want to use a grinder.
