Frame clearance tool

dance1 I came up on a problem with a mountain bike I was putting a motor on. The chain hit the frame because the bike frame was narrower in the front of the axle and got wider toward the rear axle. After alot of thought and a little luck I found something that works great expanding the frame that gave me all the clearance I needed. I bought a strut spring compresser tool at Harbor Freight for $10 bucks. I took the two hooks that slide on the big bolts and turned them around on one bolt with the nuts so that when you turned the nuts the hooks will expand instead of compressing. I'll try go post some pics so you can see how it works....Later Gator.....

Excellent idea. I'm gonna get one of those. Safer and easier to use than my home-made one.

Nice friggin' idea! See, this is what I'm talking about. You don't need a machine shop, you don't need an engineering degree, you just need some common sense and a little bit of intuition.

*edit* oh, and elbow grease. Lots of elbow grease.

Thanks Mike I've gotten a lot of help from the forum, just trying to give a little back. Glad to hear it was useful...........Georgedance1
