China girl lover finds 4 banger in the weeds! HELP! i know it would be a great fit in the hawkeye express http://motorbicycling.com/f38/hawkeye-express-32158.html ..... where do I start? this motor will be a great fit in the frame. I have NOOOO clue how to start. I have only removed the covers (kinda). Will one of you great guys pull me under your wing and walk me thru this?

I would start by checking the carb for any rust/dirt. Change the plug and oil too. Then see if it will start.

Pull the intake and exhaust off. Check for rust, debris, rodents, etc. More than likely there is rust all over the valves and moving it shook it loose. that's the way it was when I cleaned up a tiller that was sitting outside for ten years. I ended up cleaning everything real good, lapping the valves, and throwing new gaskets on it. Ran like a champ after that. It's still going today.
