I think Chrysler attempted to build a large scale version of it in the late fifties. It was to run
on water, marshland, and in wet sand. By the late 60's one was developed for the
military to use in Vietnam. I've seen photos where geologist for oil companies used them in the
marshlands of the south east hunting for salt domes.

Looked something like this:

The performance was acceptable but it was limited to the surfaces it could travel over. By
adjusting the screw pontoons it could travel sideways or in a foreward line. By adjusting
the power to each screw it could be turned like a track vehicle.
