I was on the fence between building an e-bike and a motor bike. Went with the motorbike because it seemed like more of a tinkerers project than a one time install and done e-bike. To think of it, the e bike probably can be modded but mods on a hub motor, controller, or lithium battery require tinkering ability that exceeds my capabilities at the moment. After seeing all the different mods that are available the tinkerer in me was hooked.
I must admit though I impulsively bought an engine kit from a company that doesn’t have the best reviews: Bikeberry stage 4 tuning kit. Im going to buy a zeda 80 as a back up in case the BBR craps out. Then swap all the performance parts from the BBR to the zeda. I was also looking at the YD100 but need to do more research. End goal is to buy a Frankenstein motor.
Along with the kit I bought a 36t sprocket to compare it to the 44. Most of my riding is flat land so I figure the 36 will serve me fine.
Looking forward to learning from you guys and seeing some cool builds
