Early Badger Solar Light on Kingsbury Special

Just installed a vintage Badger Solar carbide headlight on the Kingsbury special it is so much fun to tweak these bikes. Found a vintage advertisement for this very light as a motorcycle headlamp so they must have been fairly common.

Originally this lamp was nickeled, I am torn as to whether I should "restore" it to a silver appearance...I do living history so the silver would be more appropriate but I am not a thread counter and the patina is pretty cool.

This lamp was somewhat damaged so it was pretty cheap. A friend made a little mount for me (the original neck mount was missing--like I said it was cheap). I can put a modern small headlamp in it so it will work, not that I will ride at night much....

We don't have snow much South of Austin so I took the opportunity....

Wow Hoodoo. That is a really beautiful build!

How is the tensioner doing top mounted?

hoodoo, as an antique furniture restorer and having been it the antique business most of my life {3rd generation} my thoughts are leave it. If it was mine I would.
To have it renickled would be expensive and as your bike ages i think it would look too new.
Sweet looking set up.

Steve.
