E-bike noob questions

Hey guys I'm wanting to build an E-racer Anyways I know plenty about 2smokers so I thought I would try my hand at electric. So heres what Ive got so far, I have a scooter motor a roadmaster 24" mountain bike and a next 20" BMX. I'm wanting rig one of them up but I have no idea what to do for the accelerator . I need ideas and plenty of help to be able to know what I'm doing so any info would a huge help. TH

look around & you will see Hub motors vs non-hub motors (my house LOL) there are great threads to learn all about different battery chemistries....if you get hooked & can follow along, you can learn how to charge batteries for cheap & at maximum speed. lots of venders selling controllers, hub motors & such for reasonable (way less than the e-bay crooks) if your inclined, you can even build your own for less.
