I came across an old aluminum frame that was in great shape. Unfortunately, everything steel attached to it had about a ⅛ inch of rust built up. Being a West Coast kid, I've never seen road salt damage but it's got to be on this thing.
Here's my question. Under every steel bracket, clamp, etc, there is rust damage to the frame. Pitting and general corrosion and such. I thought aluminum couldn't rust. Can anyone explain this and am I risking working the frame because of such?
Thanks,
Zeke
