Sack a tomatoes California
Ive always kept a decent backwards slant on my motor/carb but because of the recent build I've had to lean it a little more forward to be able to reach the front bar.

Leaving the carburetor slightly tilted in the direction of the hinge for the float, would this cause the carburetor to malfunction in this manner?

Sure would, float is suppose to run as level as possible. If the float can't get up to shut the supply of gas off, the needles to seat it will flow freely..........Curt

If it has to be tilted just a little you can adjust the float with a clear fuel bowl oko and delorto if you look around at rebuild kits and needles etc... They get cloudy if you run it for a few years... Blue orange and a smoke color... No green
