Seeing that your very vague question is in the 4 stroke section I assume you are asking about the Grubee Stage III gearbox.

The lever disengages the gearbox which uses a centrifugal clutch.

Everyone locks the engager function of that gearbox out at the box so you can't accidentally strip out keys in the gears by engaging it above idle speeds.

I wouldn't recommend buying a Stage III.
