Chain slack

I had to replace the chain on my 66cc china girl. I have the chain tensioner right to the top to take up the slack. So, I removed 2 links, put it back on, and now the 2 ends don't meet close enough to put the master link in place. WTF?:-||

Usually you will need to move the tensioners when removing links. Set it at the bottom of the slot and slide it backwards until it's right.

Ditto:
Also there is always the 'half link'. Some folks frown on them but I've used them and never had a problem.

......or just get a Turbobuick1 tensioner and not worry about it.

Good luck with your solution!

I'll check and see if the hardware store where I bought the chain carries half links as suggested.

Maniac57, I had the tensioner all the way down and I'm trying to avoid using it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

You can use thin shims behind the rear motor mount to make small adjustments to chain length. Doing away with the tensioner is the best tensioner of all.
