Chain fatigue... Weakest link... :(

I discovered one of my chain links has cracked in half. Good thing nothing happened to me on my way home. Has this happened to anybody else. Well, the chain claims to have 1.5 ton breaking point, with other half still intact, then I still have 750 kg. I've replaced the broken link and all is good... Weakest links must be found and replaced...

i've busted 2 chains so far, one stock and one aftermarket 41 chain from Fastenal, that was supposed to be all fancy and special.

both chains just snapped for no reason, and i never noticed any weak links. they just busted and left me to pedal home. luckily, both times i was close to home.

they both lasted about 3 months each, and the chain i have on now is about 2 months old, so i'm gonna have to pick another one up in a few weeks, just in case.

Thats a fancy half link chain, not as strong as a plain flat plate chain.
