The carb should work fine...so I did a lil research on the RT carb, it says like F50, F60, and F80... will it work on my skyhawk 66?
You just need to spend the time and do the adjustments and tweeks to get it running right.
When adjusting the float very small movements of the tab are needed, not big ones.
I wrote a long thread on tuning my carb, I am not goint to repeat everything I wrote there for you here, please follow the link and read the section on adjusting the float. Even if you have a different carb the float adjustment procedure should be about the same...

Sounds like you need LESS fuel in your bowl, so bend the tab so it closes off the needle valve sooner, when the float is lower in the bowl. Again, refer to the above post for more details...
