Carb float adjustment... any guides?

Read a lot on here in the past about people having flooded carburetors and adjusting the float inside, was just wondering how that works exactly since mine wants to act up recently....

Sorry if this sound weird, trying to tihnk about it.

Basically as fuel enter the float bowl, the float rises, pushing the fork up and closes the fuel entry.

If you bend the tabs of the fork, the fork will close off the fuel supply earlier, meaning the fuel bowl holds less fuel/doesn't leak.

cool. Thanks for that. So I guess there could be 2 possible problems...

  1. Float being in the wrong place
  2. Crap being stuck in where the needle closes, keeping it open

#2 makes more sense anyway since it hasn't done this until I modded a plastic tank to work. Could be some plastic shavings maybe stuck in there...

Also make sure the float...floats. Many have found cracks or holes in their float which allows it to sink and not push up on the needle valve. Even a small hole that will let in any fuel will cause this. Check it carefully for any fuel inside it.
