cantilever brakes or change to disc?

hello all, new to the site. just wondering if any one had experience with a cantilever schwinn? i ride a 1995-96 cruiser six anniversary issue schwinn. the rear brake yoke is in the way of mounting hole for the rear phantom rack. the adjustment of the yoke is`nt enough to get it up and out of the way. the cross cable will rub or grind away on the rack. because of the arch. should i check into disc brakes and what cheap disc brakes will work for my application? thanks for any help. wez

Welcome to the forum wez. My bikes came with a rack. Point Beach brake arms might be shorter. Just guessing. Can you send us a pic? There are some very smart members here.
I don't know without seeing it.

thanks for the response. will take pictures tomorrow and get back on site. i was thinking of using long arm brakes? but,the long arms are a side pull style vs. the center pull cantilever. going to look up the ones you spoke of. the disc thing sounds really interesting too. thanks for the help.
